2014 is going to be a rockin' year for RTSV.
We are now the non-profit partner of San Diego Indie Fest and planning is underway for the 9th annual independent music, art, and film festival slated for Sept. 20, 2014!
RTSV is also working with the Veterans Affairs Military Sexual Trauma Program and the Clothesline Project to create a military sexual violence awareness event on April 29, 2014 that will be held at San Diego State University. Visit our events page for more details.
RTSV has held successful events in San Diego and Las Vegas sharing our important message of healing and non-violence. Our events remain focused on community awareness through rock n roll music, art, and fashion.
RTSV has been featured in magazines and newspapers, multiple radio spots, interviews on local networks, and received live event and red carpet coverage. This is an important way to share our message and mission and bring added value to our sponsors and partners.
RTSV was created by Michelle Renee, a survivor of childhood abuse and domestic violence, and later survived a violent home invasion kidnapping along with her then 7 year-old daughter. But it wasn't until Michelle heard of a young man's struggles with medical bills after being attacked by a gang that RTSV came to be. She scribbled the concept on a napkin at a cafe and held the first event 6 weeks later raising over $5,000. RTSV is now a 501 c3 organization with a Board of Directors, advisers, and community partners.
